Alvar Sunol Munoz-Ramos was born near Barcelona, Spain. He attended the Fine Art school there and had his first solo exhibition at Galleries Layetana, Barcelona in 1957. Success followed soon after his move to Paris in 1959, when he was taken up by Galerie Drouant. He has since shown in many European cities, New York and elsewhere in the United States, Canada and Japan. Working in oils, lithographs and a number of different media, Alvar is represented in public collections in US, Spain, France and Japan.
