Richard BEER

1928-

Richard Beer studied at the Slade School of Fine Art 1945-50 and then at S W Hayter’s Atelier 17 and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He taught at Slade, Chelsea School of Art and, later, the British School in Rome. Beer, who was particularly interested in modest, quirky urban architecture, turned his hand to theatre and stage design and illustration, but also continued to exhibit widely. He had many mixed and solo exhibitions, the latter including Parkin Gallery 1982 and Sally Hunter Fine Art 1990-92. Tate Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum and Arts Council hold his work.
