Also known as Haika Arom-Hobbs, Arom is a Harrow-based artist. She was born in Israel and trained in Tel Aviv and then Ravensbourne College of Art in London. She has had mixed shows at the Royal Academy, Salon des Arts, Ben Uri Gallery and elsewhere. Solo exhibitions include her show Gleanings at Fovea Gallery, London (2005).
Arom works with her own hand-made paper and mixed media, putting the emphasis on textual integration and delicacy of line, colour and marks. The results "are like the vestiges of memory, hinting at shapes seen, colours celebrated or residual traces of things known".
